About Us --

Present Day Goods is a one-woman studio in Jersey City, NJ. I make candles, soaps, room sprays, lip care, body oils, and balms — all in small batches, mostly by hand, out of a home lab that keeps getting more interesting.

It started with coconut wax candles. I took them to local farmers markets and kept going from there. The line expanded based on what I actually wanted to use and couldn't find made right.

Some ingredients come from close by. The beeswax I use in lip balms, the Gardener's Balm, and a few soaps is from hives in Riverview Park — real Jersey City bees. The honey in the lip scrub too. The apiary is a few blocks away. It's a good partnership.

I have a background in product design — Parsons, metals and objects, years working as an art director for museum and bookstore gift buyers in New York. Things should look right, work right, and be made from ingredients worth reading on a label.

Products ship from Jersey City. You can also find me most some weeknights, Saturdays and Sundays at local NJ Maker and Farmers Markets.
