Short List of Jersey City Favorites
I was on the train the other day thinking, I really should create an old-fashioned links page or even just directory of very special Jersey City businesses and cultural org.s which we support, commit to, and with which we do business.
Present Day Goods' goal is to keep things local and network with neighbors and community members, to keep our human and wildlife culture going.
*By purchasing from our brand you are also supporting the organizations and businesses on this list.*
Lincoln Park Farmer's Market -- Our residency in the wide open beauty of Lincoln Park. This micro-market is open on Sundays from 10-2 throught the summer until the end of October. If you love this area and want to support the local community, spend some time or donate to WSCA.
Bergen Square Day -- once a year, our friends at the Journal Square Neighborhood Association put on this fun event with local sellers, makers, artists, dancers, bands and political reps. Something for everyone. The next Bergen Square Day event will be in Fall 2025.
Riverview Farmers Market -- while we don't sell at the farmers market right now, we do appear at evets like their annual Flea Market and annual Holiday Market. They can always use a helping hand or donation.
Jersey City Apiary at Riverview Community Garden. We get our raw honey and beeswax from Roger Moss at the apiaries of Ogden End in the Heights and Speer Cemetary in McGinley Square. He goes to parks all over Jersey City to spread the good word about the importance of our local beehives and has created a terrific team of colleagues. They also come to call when you have a displaced swarm in the neighborhood.
Speer Cemetary Day of the Dead celebration -- I am so delighted to participate this year at the very unique, historic Speer Cemetery for their Day of the Dead celebration on November 2. Indie Jersey City businesses will have tables selling various handmade things, there will be a silent Mexican film and food trucks.
Smush Gallery -- Thank you to Smush for inviting us to their December 6th holiday market for the second year in a row, during JC Fridays. Smush is a darling space for local art shows and community events. Check them out here and sign up for updates, they have lots of cool things happening.
